Guidelines and standards must be in place for the construction of accesses to County road and street infrastructure in order to provide safe infrastructure for those using the accesses, local roads, and streets. An access request must be completed and approved by the County prior to building an access. Policy PW039: Rural Road, Access Construction and Surface Water Management outlines the procedure guidelines for the construction of an access and the process by which requests are approved.
Applications for the construction, reconstruction, or alteration of any access shall be submitted by completing the Request to Construct or Alter and Access Form and will be accepted by Mackenzie County any time throughout the year. The submitted applications will be reviewed and the applicant shall be provided with an initial response within 30 days of receiving the application, however, once the ground is snow-covered and/or frozen, initial and final inspections will not be completed until spring.
